Taylor Apple is a multidimensional artist and educator whose work invites viewers into a layered world of duality, alchemy, and identity. Born and raised between Uptown Manhattan and the Bronx, her creative voice was shaped by the vibrant energy of the neighborhoods around her—murals on corner stores, community programs, and the rhythm of everyday life. With a BFA in Painting and Drawing and years of experience as a special education teacher, Apple blends her artistic practice with an educator’s curiosity. Her work often draws from fictional characters—like Kirby or Spider-Man—who reflect resilience, transformation, and the power of possibility in ordinary people. Through bold mark-making, emotional storytelling, and playful references to pop culture, her pieces explore what it means to be seen, to adapt, and to find joy through all of life’s phases. Whether through painting, drawing, or mixed media, Apple’s approach is as much about feeling as it is about form. She creates spaces for others to reflect, question, and connect—sometimes tender, sometimes strange, always honest. Her current body of work, Mercury in Reggaeton, centers joy, fluid identity, and the quiet strength of vulnerability
